Louisiana Sky

“Louisiana Sky” (mixed media: collage, watercolor, clear epoxy)

The little horse painting was done several years ago. The collage pieces are from a large painting that didn’t work. I used attached the collage pieces to a cradled wooden panel (my newest interest) and sealed it with an epoxy. This little 8″ x 8″ piece will be available at NLAC’s Blend on the Bayou silent auction, May 7th.

Mixed media on 10″ x 10″ wooden panel (oil pastels, collage, watersoluble wax crayons). This is another¬†artwork that started with pieces of paper stuck to the surface (collage) that I couldn’t completely remove. I like the texture that remains and the texture created by drawing over those areas. Available for $200. Free shipping w/in the USA. Contact me: painthorsegallery@gmail.com

Horse Dancing in the Moonlight

“Horse Dancing in the Moonlight”¬†(10″ x 10″) is winging its way to Blazing New Trails: Women and Discovery, an exhibition by the N.A.W.A. Florida Chapter. The exhibition is October 31 – November 29, 2016 at the Marco Island Center for the Arts. “Horse Dancing” is a mixed media piece mounted on a wooden cradle: watercolor, watercolor pencils, collage.

Heart & Release

“Heart & Release” is #19 of my 2016 “Daily Something” series. It is 4″ x 7″and although small, took several hours to complete (mixed media: ink, India ink, & acrylic on Rives BFK). This series always begins with some sort of mark-making and leads eventually to a non-predetermined place.
