“Green Horses” (9″ x 11″); ink pen drawing with digital color
“Hearts & Flowers & Horses” (watercolor on Yupo paper; 10″ x 13″)
Yupo is a very slick-surfaced paper, and you either love it or hate it. I enjoy working on it, but it can be frustrating. Apply a brushstroke, then again, and it changes completely. It never seems to stay put…but that’s the surprise I like.
Went back into this little plein air piece today and added shadows and a few other details.
Midnight Run, a work-in-progress (watercolor, 9.5″ x 20″)
Green Broke, a little Daily Something (ink pen drawing scanned; digital color)
A couple of years ago, I took pictures at a mustang sale. This watercolor painting shows some of the two-year olds grouped together in a holding pen. They were so sad looking, dejected, and seemingly confused. Hope they all went to good homes.
Return, the Horse (mixed media on gallery-wrapped canvas).
