View from Our Hill

working back into it (still a work-in-progress); that boat is very sad–needs a lot of work

“View from Our Hill” en plein air (dry pastel on sanding paper; 9″ x 12″)

work-in-progress.  Some artists use rubbing alcohol on the under painting. I wanted to try it but couldn’t find any around the house, so I used hydrogen peroxide–not a good idea! It made the under-painting gooey, but I worked through it. I’ll buy some rubbing alcohol and try again. :0  This piece looks much like a child’s drawing, but it will remind me what not to do.
